FrameCourier wasn't dreamed up in a boardroom. It was built over 8 years inside WeDoVids — a real video production and photography studio — to solve the delivery problems we lived with every day.
What started as a homegrown client portal for our own studio became a platform for the entire industry.
In 2018, WeDoVids was delivering photos and videos to clients the way every production company did — email attachments, Dropbox links, USB drives, and FTP. It was messy. Clients lost links, downloaded wrong versions, and feedback came via scattered email threads with no way to know which frame they were talking about.
On top of the chaos, we were paying for three different platforms — one for file transfers, another for proofing, and a third for client communication. Each had its own limits, its own login, and its own monthly bill. The costs added up fast, and none of them talked to each other. We were spending more time managing delivery tools than actually delivering.
A lot of our work is with commercial clients — marketing departments, corporate communications teams, ad agencies. Those projects come with a roster of stakeholders: the marketing director, the brand manager, the outside agency, the legal team, and sometimes the CEO. Existing platforms were built for single-user or small-team access, usually with per-seat pricing that made no sense for a corporate account. We needed a way for an entire client team — plus their external partners — to log in under one account and see only what they needed. Nothing out there worked like that.
So we built our own system. A private client portal where we could upload galleries, share proofs, collect feedback, and deliver final files — all under our own brand. It saved us hours per project and eliminated the back-and-forth that was eating into our margins.
That first version was rudimentary — a password-protected gallery page we hacked together over a weekend. But the moment we sent that first link and the client replied with "This is amazing, can we do this for every project?" we knew we were onto something. We kept using it, kept improving it, and eventually every single client delivery went through the portal.
The system evolved constantly. We added watermarking when a client shared unproofed images. We built timestamped video comments after one too many "around the 1:20 mark" emails. We added QR codes when a client asked for a faster way to share a gallery on set. Every feature was driven by a real problem we actually had.
Word spread. Other production companies started asking if they could use it too. At first we hesitated — this was our internal tool, rough around the edges and tied to our specific workflow. But the requests kept coming, and we realized the problems we'd solved were universal. A photographer delivering proofs to a wedding couple faces the same frustration as a video team sending cuts to a corporate client.
After nearly a decade of refinement, we realized this system wasn't just useful for us — it was something every photographer and video production company needed. So we rebuilt it for the public, polished every edge, and launched it as FrameCourier.
FrameCourier is the delivery platform we wish had existed when we started our studio. Now it's yours.
Brian and Sarah have known each other since high school in 1988 and founded WeDoVids together in 2018, bringing decades of combined experience in photography, video production, and technology.

Brian began his career working at IBM in the early 90s. Four years later he went into business for himself as a computer programmer. In 2001 Brian moved to Oregon to further pursue his tech endeavors, and while there his passion for video production was realized. He produced his first feature documentary in 2004 about a band touring the west coast on a shoestring budget; it premiered at the Downtown Arts Center in Eugene, OR. Since then Brian has continued to work with video, partnering with production companies on the west coast and midwest on various projects.
In 2018 Brian formed WeDoVids with Sarah. Embracing the ever-changing world of technology with constant enthusiasm, Brian is the force behind FrameCourier's architecture and development. It was Brian who first hacked together the prototype — a single evening of coding born from frustration with yet another lost Dropbox link. He's since overseen every major version of the platform, treating each release as a conversation with the production studios who use it.

Sarah is an award-winning business photographer in Dayton, Ohio. She was drawn to photography as a child and became passionate after experimenting with a pinhole camera during a school field trip. After two years of photography studies in high school, Sarah earned her degree in portrait and commercial photography from The Ohio Institute of Photography in 1995. She started her career in news photography at the Springfield News-Sun and Dayton Daily News, where she developed her eye for editorial portraiture. Sarah shifted toward videography in 2014, and with Brian she began producing business videos with a focus on marketing, brand documentaries, and event live streaming. She is an active member of the Professional Photographers of America, dedicated to the continuous learning of her rapidly changing craft.
Sarah and Brian have known each other since high school in 1988, and their partnership is built on decades of trust and a shared drive to create. She brought the photographer's perspective to every product decision — from proofing workflows to print-ready delivery — ensuring the platform serves the creative professional, not the other way around.
We believe in approaching every situation and every person with honesty and integrity.
We'd rather be straightforward with customers than polished — say what's actually going on, fix what's broken, and follow through. That same approach carries over into the community we're part of.
Sarah is a certified facilitator of the adult course Getting Ahead in a Just Getting By World, designed to help struggling individuals overcome poverty. Brian has been involved in a multitude of similar community service projects over the years.
At WeDoVids, we give back to causes we care about — poverty and animal welfare chief among them — donating time, services, and money to organizations doing the hard work on the front lines. Whether that's producing a promotional video for a non-profit or volunteering for a local charity, it's part of how the studio operates, not a side project.
